Tennis prodigy Manas Dhamne and seasoned Prajwal Dev set to enter Bengaluru Open 2025 as wild playing cards

17-year-old tennis prodigy Manas Dhamne is ready to showcase his sport as soon as once more, this time on the Bengaluru Open.

India’s 17-year-old tennis prodigy, Manas Dhamne, along with seasoned players Ramkumar Ramanathan and SD Prajwal Dev, is gearing up for the Bengaluru Open ATP Challenger 125 tournament, as all three have been awarded wild card entries for the singles main draw. The tournament is set to begin soon, marking its ninth edition at the Karnataka State Lawn Tennis Association courts in Cubbon Park, Bengaluru.

Wild Card entries for Singles Main Draw

Manas Dhamne: One of India’s top young talents, surley made great progress in the last two years. He recently won his first big title at the M15 Monastir in Tunisia. Also became the youngest to win a first-round match at the junior Australian Open and to play in a main draw ATP Tour match in 2023. “Manas Dhamne’s rapid progress is exciting for Indian tennis, while Ramkumar and Prajwal Dev bring valuable experience to the field. We look forward to seeing how all our wild card entrants perform in the competition,” tournament director Sunil Yajman said.

Ramkumar Ramanathan, a key player in India’s Davis Cup team, is a seasoned name and a current favorite to win the Bengaluru Open. Along with him, SD Prajwal Dev, who earned his ATP ranking in 2015, has competed in both singles and doubles, securing one ATP Challenger doubles title and several ITF doubles titles. Both players are now set for the upcoming tournament. Apart from them, Kriish Tyagi and Niki Kaliyanda Poonacha have received wild card entries for the qualifying rounds and will compete for a place in the main draw.

Bengaluru Open 2025 start date

Set to take place from February 24 to March 2, 2025, at the Karnataka State Lawn Tennis Association courts in Cubbon Park, Bengaluru, the tournament will kick off on February 24 and conclude with the finals on March 2. With a competitive lineup, the event will feature a main draw of 32 singles players, 24 qualifying players, and 16 doubles teams, promising an exciting week of high-level tennis action.
