Subriel Matias “Not Deserving”? Elvis Rodriguez Chooses Alamo Conflict

Elvis Rodriguez has chosen to not take the struggle with former IBF mild welterweight champion Subriel Matias. As a substitute, the 140-lb contender Rodriguez (17-1-1, 13 KOs) could possibly be preventing Yomar Alamo (22-3-1, 13 KOs).

Workforce Rodriguez’s excuse for rejecting the struggle with Matias is that he “doesn’t deserve” it. That’s a wierd purpose for preventing him as a result of Elvis will not be a world champion; he’s simply one of many many contenders within the 140-lb division.

There’s far more to achieve for Elvis Rodriguez preventing Subriel Matias than Yomar Alamo, who’s coming off an eight-round unanimous resolution loss to Delante Johnson on September twenty seventh.

Nonetheless, one optimistic from preventing Yomar Alamo is that there’s minimal danger of Elvis getting knocked out. He’s not a puncher like Matias, and Rodriguez’s probabilities of successful are a lot increased.

The Actual Purpose?

That excuse could be extra plausible if Rodriguez fought one of many A-level contenders at mild welterweights, like Gary Antuanne Russell, Arnold Barboza Jr., or Sandor Martin. Combating Yomar Alamo gives the look that Elvis didn’t need any a part of preventing Subriel Matias and seeing their fighter lose once more.

Matias (21-2, 21 KOs) would have been a tricky struggle for the ‘Dominican Child’ Elvis Rodriguez, so it’s not a shock that his group selected to not take this match. Rodriguez already misplaced to Kenneth Sims Jr. in 2021, and he’s been working his method again since.

Elvis, 28, has gained his final six fights since, albeit towards middle-of-the-road opposition and never towards the predatory sharks at mild welterweight. It might have nice if he at the very least tried to struggle one of many harmful contenders since dropping to Sims for years in the past.

“No, to Subriel Matias. [He] doesn’t deserve the chance,” stories @cesarseda. “Inner sources reveal that Prime Rank is managing: Elvis Rodríguez vs Yomar Álamo.”

Clearly, it wouldn’t play nicely if Workforce Rodriguez simply flat-out mentioned that they didn’t need to take the struggle with Matias as a result of he’s too dangerous.
