Punjab Kings (PBKS) will open their IPL 2025 marketing campaign towards Gujarat Titans (GT) on March 25 away from residence.
The Punjab Kings (PBKS) faithful are pumped up. With a brand new set of players under a fresh coaching staff, the hype for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 is at an all-time high. Now, PBKS’ talismanic captain Shreyas Iyer has fired his shots, making a blistering 85 in a practice game on Wednesday, March 19.

What happened during PBKS’ practice match?
So, the Punjab Kings played an intra-squad practice game, with Team A and Team B. Team B, presumably led by Shreyas Iyer, batted first and scored a whopping 205 runs in just 20 overs! The star of the show was Iyer, scoring 85 runs off just 41 balls! The PBKS skipper continued his stellar ICC Champions Trophy form. At the ICC event, Iyer was one of the most underrated batters, scoring 243 runs at an average of 48.60.
Now, it was Team A’s turn to bat. Their openers, Priyansh Arya and Prabhsimran Singh, got off to a fantastic start, scoring 72 and 66 runs respectively. It should come as a superb news for the Kings as both Priyansh and Prabhsimran are touted as the present and future of the franchise. Their red-hot form would be crucial going in IPL 2025. But, despite their best efforts, Team A fell just short of the target, scoring 198 runs and losing by 7 runs.
One player who really stood out was Arshdeep Singh, who took two wickets and gave away just 22 runs in his 4 overs. He was pretty impressive!
