Lucknow Super Giants star Nicholas Pooran pledged his unwavering support to captain Rishabh Pant ahead of IPL 2025. The Caribbean keeper-batter was retained by the franchise for Rs 21 crore. Pant, on the other hand, created history after LSG broke the bank to purchase the star for a whooping Rs 27 crore. Before the start of the new season, Pooran opened up on his relation with the captain.
Pooran-Pant set to propel LSG to IPL title
Speaking to MyKhel, Pooran pointed out that the entire LSG squad supported Pant, both on and off the field. He said that the southpaw brought a fresh perspective and energy to the side.
“I am an open book. Rishabh knows he can come to me anytime, and I can do the same with him. We have a strong relationship, and communication has never been an issue. He has my full support, and along with experienced players like Miller and the overseas contingent, we will work together to push LSG towards success,” Pooran said.
Pant’s sit down pep talk with LSG teammates
In an video uploaded by LSG on social media platform X, Pant explained that the experience of the seniors in the side was a major plus for the team.
“I feel there is a lot of experience in the group. I think management has a lot of experience, we have a lot of senior players. Keep sharing your experience with the younger guys and let that experience flow into the younger group,” Pant told his LSG teammates.
