In keeping with promoter Eddie Hearn, Anthony Joshua will return to the ring in Might or June of 2020. The 2 fights that Hearn desires for Joshua (28-4, 25 KOs) are Tyson Fury and Daniel Dubois.
Hearn doesn’t point out wanting Joshua to battle Oleksandr Usyk regardless of AJ dropping twice to him and plenty of followers desirous to see him avenge the losses. For Hearn to not embody Usyk, it tells you that doesn’t suppose AJ can win.
Fury is a risk for Joshua relying on his efficiency towards unified three-belt heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk on December twenty first. Hearn is hoping that Fury can win that battle as a result of he desires Joshua to battle for world titles.
“For those who have a look at it, he fought Jermaine Franklin, Robert Helenius, Otto Wallin, and Francis Ngannou. All from the interval of April to March. So, in eight months, he had 4 fights, after which he fought Dubois as nicely 4 months later,” stated Eddie Hearn to the media about Anthony Joshua.
These aren’t nice fighters that Joshua beat within the one-year interval. He may have taken some critical fights.
“So, he’s been tremendous lively. Clearly, if you get beat like that, you do want a bit of extra time. He’ll be able to rescue his camp in January. So, he’ll be good to battle beginning in April, however I do count on him to battle in Might or June.
“Clearly, if he fights Fury, he’s going to want that house between the Usyk battle and Dubois is preventing on February twenty second. So, realistically, Might or June is extra prefer it. AJ would proceed to battle eternally. He loves it, however I believe the 2 fights on the market for him are the rematch with Dubois and the Tyson Fury battle.
“For me, I don’t see the enchantment of some other battle, if I’m sincere. No, straight in. There aren’t any warmup fights wanted at this stage [for Joshua]. Straight in,” stated Hearn when requested if Joshua would take a warmup battle earlier than preventing Fury or Dubois.
There are different fights on the market for Joshua, reminiscent of Oleksandr Usyk and Martin Bakole. It wouldn’t make sense for Joshua to battle Fury if he’s crushed by Usyk.
