Neymar’s father has revealed the Brazil star might stay with Santos past June, after he scored his first aim since returning to his boyhood membership on Sunday.
Neymar rejoined Santos – who he left for Barcelona in 2013 – in January, having terminated his contract with Saudi Professional League champions Al-Hilal.
The 33-year-old gained and scored a penalty as Santos beat Agua Santa within the Sao Paulo State Championship on Sunday, then celebrated by kissing the membership’s badge.
Writing on Instagram after the sport, Neymar mentioned: “Essential win, nicely carried out group, let’s go SANTOS.”
Talking to TNT Brasil after the match, Neymar Sr. revealed his son was open to extending the preliminary five-month deal he has signed with Santos, saying: “Our challenge isn’t just for 5 months, it’s a contract that we’re contemplating renewing.
“We didn’t come right here to compete for 5 months, it was to provide Santos the chance to restructure itself, to search out companions for the membership to rebuild itself.”
Requested about these feedback from his father, Neymar himself mentioned: “Let’s take it simple. It’s a contract we made not simply between the 2 of us.
“One helps the opposite. Santos opened the doorways for me to reacquaint myself with soccer, with my pleasure.
“I didn’t signal a protracted contract as a result of I didn’t know the way I used to be going to get again, how I used to be going to really feel in these months. Something can occur.”
Neymar has performed 4 video games since returning to Santos, along with his 85 minutes performed on Sunday making it his longest look but.
His aim was his first in Santos colors since April 17, 2013, when he netted in a 2-0 win over Flamengo.
