Lanao lawmaker lauds Marcos resolution to defer BARRM polls

MANILA, Philippines — President Ferdinand “Bongbong” R. Marcos Jr.’s resolution to reset the Bangsamoro Autonomous Area in Muslim Mindanao (BARRM) elections is an important step to handle parliamentary seat challenge of Sulu province, Lanao del Sur 1st District Rep. Ziaur-Rahman Alonto Adiong stated on Friday.

Adiong stated the essential element of Marcos’ transfer is the President’s energy to nominate members of the Bangsamoro Transition Authority (BTA), giving the chief government energy to reapportion the seats of Sulu.

Adiong stated the delay of BARRM polls will give the Fee on Elections (Comelec) and BARMM establishments ample time to regulate.

The primary ever BARRM election was scheduled concurrently with the midterm elections on Could 12.
