P.V Sindhu, Lakshya Sen and India’s dynamic men’s doubles pair of Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty will lead India’s challenge at the India Open Super 750. The tournament is all set to start on January 14. The special thing about this year’s India Open is that India will have its largest-ever team competing in the event. This includes three men’s singles players, four women’s singles players, two men’s doubles teams, eight women’s doubles teams, and four mixed doubles pairs. They will compete in the BWF World Tour event. The India Open Super 750 will happen from January 14 to 19 at the K. D. Jadhav Indoor Stadium in New Delhi.

Which foreign players will compete?

Eight of the world’s top 10 men’s players, including Paris Olympics medallists, will be competing. Top seeds include World No. 1 Shi Yuqi, Indonesia’s Jonatan Christie, and Olympic champion Viktor Axelsen. Among the women, 14 of the world’s top 20 players will participate, including World No. 1 An Se Young from Korea. PV Sindhu, returning after her marriage, is set to play against Anupama Upadhyaya in the first round.

• Lakshya Sen will start against Weng Hong Yang from China, with a possible second-round match against fifth seed Li Shi Feng.
• H.S. Prannoy is likely to face Jonatan Christie in the second round.
• Priyanshu Rajawat will compete against Japan’s Kodai Naraoka in the opening round.
