India and England are gearing up for an exciting cricket series, set to reignite their historic rivalry. This series will feature eight white-ball matches, kicking off with five T20 Internationals (T20Is) and followed by three One Day Internationals (ODIs), starting on January 22 in Kolkata. Meanwhile, England’s skipper Jos Buttler might be able to break one of Virat Kohli’s records in the upcoming IND vs. ENG T20 series.
Jos Buttler to go past Virat Kohli?
England’s captain, Jos Buttler, is on the verge of breaking Virat Kohli’s T20I record. With 498 runs against India in T20Is, Buttler needs just 151 more to surpass Kohli’s impressive 648-run mark.
Meanwhile, India’s Rohit Sharma, who has scored 467 runs against England, will be looking to strengthen his team’s performance. Both Sharma and Kohli have retired from T20Is, adding an extra layer of intrigue to the series.
The T20I matches will take place across various cities: Chennai, Rajkot, Pune, and Mumbai, after the opener in Kolkata. Following the T20Is, the teams will compete in three ODIs scheduled for February 6, 9, and 12 in Nagpur, Cuttack, and Ahmedabad.
After the series, India will head to Dubai for the 2025 Champions Trophy, while England will travel to Pakistan.
