RCB and PBKS skippers Rajat Patidar and Shreyas Iyer posed earlier than the IPL 2025 trophy forward of the ultimate on Tuesday
Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Punjab Kings are all set to clash for their maiden IPL title on June 3. While RCB handed a 8-wicket thrashing to PBKS in Qualifier 1 to proceed to the final, Shreyas Iyer and co. defeated MI by 5 wickets to enter the final for the first time in 11 years. RCB and PBKS will square off for their maiden titles on June 3 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Tuesday at 7.30 PM.
All set for RCB vs PBKS in IPL 2025 final
IPL 2025 marks the first time that RCB have reached the final in 9 years. This is the fourth time that they have reached the playoffs, having done so in 2009, 2011 and 2016 previously. PBKS, on the other hand, have reached the final only once before in 2011.
RCB ended a 9-year-long wait to make it to the IPL final. Rajat Patidar and co. have been phenomenal this season, finishing 2nd on the points table in the league stage with 9 wins from 14 matches. Despite making it to the playoffs on many occasions, RCB have never managed to lift the coveted trophy in 18 years.
PBKS hadn’t even made the IPL playoffs since 2014 and in the year they made the final four, they reached the final as well. Shreyas and Ricky Ponting had turned the franchise around. It seems nothing short of the trophy will please them. Given Shreyas’ own form and the whole team firing collectively, it won’t be a surprise they beat RCB on June 3, even though they were thoroughly routed by them in Qualifier 1.
