In a thrilling announcement, Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) has confirmed that there will be free entry for spectators attending all matches of the tournament, scheduled to commence on July 19.
The highly anticipated clash between India and Pakistan will mark the tournament opener at the Rangiri Dambulla International Cricket Stadium. This high-voltage encounter is expected to set the tone for the tournament, with fans eager to witness the rivalry between these two cricketing powerhouses.
Women’s Asia Cup: Battle for Glory
A total of eight teams will compete in the tournament, divided into two groups. Group A comprises India, Pakistan, United Arab Emirates, and Nepal, while Group B features Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Malaysia, and Thailand. The top two teams from each group will advance to the semi-finals.

SLC Vice President Ravin Wickramaratne has been appointed as the Tournament Director and is optimistic about the tournament’s potential to elevate women’s cricket to new heights. “We are excited to host the Women’s Asia Cup and provide free entry for fans to encourage greater participation and support for women’s cricket,” Wickramaratne said.
India Squad
Meanwhile, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has unveiled the Indian squad for the tournament. Harmanpreet Kaur will lead the team, with Smriti Mandhana serving as her deputy. The squad boasts a formidable lineup, including experienced players and promising young talents.
