MANILA, Philippines — The Division of Training (DepEd) formalized a partnership with the Nationwide Electrification Administration (NEA) to convey a gentle provide of electrical energy to remoted or “final mile faculties.”

DepEd defines “final mile faculties” as academic establishments in “geographically remoted and deprived areas.”

The collaboration with the NEA goals to serve off-grid and underserved areas, DepEd mentioned in an announcement on Thursday.

The initiative might be supported by means of authorities funding and grants with further backing from the non-public sector, electrical cooperatives and native authorities items.

“Previously, energy has given us entry, energy has given us leisure, and energy has facilitated commerce and e-commerce,” Training Secretary Sonny Angara mentioned in an announcement.
