CEBU CITY, Philippines – Age proved to not be an impediment for 85-year-old Bebie Mauro who defied expectations and captured the championship within the Sugbuanon Bowlers United (SUGBU) Bowling Shootout held on Easter Sunday, April 20, on the SM Seaside Metropolis Cebu Bowling Heart.

A Division C competitor, Mauro leaned on her consistency—and a well-earned 53 handicap factors—to edge out two youthful, seasoned bowlers within the ultimate spherical.

Her ultimate rating of 185 pinfalls was simply sufficient to safe the title in a nail-biting end, narrowly defeating Division B high qualifier Celis Viloria, who posted 183 pinfalls.
