The ICC has deliberate for an emergency assembly to unravel the continuing BCCI vs PCB standoff
The BCCI and the PCB have been at loggerheads for quite some time over the ICC Champions Trophy fiasco. As a result, the ICC has called for an emergency meeting on 26th November. The apex cricket body of the world plans to solve the dispute between the two nations so that the ICC tournament can progress without much further delay.
An emergency meeting is called which will plan to resolve the ongoing conflict. Apart from the BCCI and the PCB, all ICC board members are also expected to be a part of the virtual meeting. As far as the conflict goes, BCCI has no plans on sending the India Cricket Team to Pakistan, while the PCB remains steadfast in not opting to agree to the hybrid model.
It has been understood that the key points that are slated to be discussed include the hybrid model along with the structure, format, and scheduling of the group stage matches. Reports claim that anticipated India vs Pakistan clash and the fate of semi-finals and finals will also be discussed if the hybrid model is adopted.
BCCI vs PCB conflict continues
Both the BCCI and the PCB have remained firm in their stands. The BCCI has made it clear that under no circumstances it would send the India Cricket Team to Pakistan. On the other, the PCB too remains steadfast in not opting to choose for a hybrid model.
As per reports, sources from the ICC has denied reports of a meeting taking place on 26th November. India has opted to play the tournament in a neutral venue like the UAE. If the PCB refuses to accept the hybrid model, there runs a huge chance that the entire tournament might be relocated, in such a scenario, the PCB would pull out of the tournament.
There also remains a huge doubt over the India vs Pakistan clash. Should it not happen, then the ICC faces a tough scenario as the broadcasters would file for a legal case against the ICC. The broadcasters believe that the major revenue of the tournament would be recuperated from the high-profile clash.
