The Sioux Falls Canaries have swept the Pointstreak batter and pitcher of the week awards for the week ending 7/14, as infielder Josh Rehwaldt and starter Tanner Brown earn the honors, the league introduced Monday.
A starter in subsequent week’s all-star sport, Rehwaldt was the highest run producer within the league this week. He went 10-for-23 on the plate (.435) with three doubles, one homer and eight RBI.
The spotlight of his week got here again on Wednesday when he hit a house run and drove in 4 runs in a 9-1 win for the Canaries in opposition to Gary-SouthShore.
That is Rehwaldt’s second season in Sioux Falls after he spent a while with them again in 2019. He spent the earlier three seasons with the New Jersey Jackals of the Frontier League.
