“Aadat daal lo, mere captaincy mein aisa hello hone wala hai” DC captain Axar Patel sends early warning to opponents

It is Axar Patel’s period! Effectively, now he’s the Delhi Capitals chief, and in line with him, DC followers can anticipate thrilling video games similar to they noticed in the present day towards Lucknow Tremendous Giants.

“Absolute cinema” – maybe this is the phrase that best suits LSG vs DC IPL 2025 match. While the IPL has just started, thrilling matches have been happening all over, but it’s safe to say today’s game is at the top among all the matches played so far. And why not? When DC lost 5 wickets under 70 runs, no one expected them to get back on track and chase down the 210-run target. But Ashutosh Sharma thought differently, playing a heroic knock, and his brilliance is the only reason why Delhi Capitals triumphed over Lucknow Super Giants in a thrilling contest.

Many things went against DC initially. Their bowling in the first 10 overs came under pressure as Mitchell Marsh and Nicholas Pooran smashed the DC bowlers. Then, when Delhi came to bat, they lost 4 wickets in the powerplay. But as mentioned, after that, Ashutosh Sharma and youngster Vipraj Nigam snatched the game from LSG’s mouth.

Now, clearly, skipper Axar Patel is happy with the team’s performance and gave some cheeky replies after the thrilling game post-match.

“Make it a habit this is how it’s going to be under my captaincy”

“Make it a habit that this is how it’s going to be under my captaincy. My decision-making is also a bit up and down like this, so anything can happen. Sometimes there will be anger also from fans. Right now, we won, so no one will say anything.”

Adding to this, he also said that while chasing big targets, losing four wickets in the powerplay and still winning a game is pretty rare. However, he pointed out how cricket has changed over the years.

“Now cricket is changing. You just stay at the crease and apply yourself. As a bowler, I feel it’s all a game of the mind. If you think that you’re going to get hit, you can also go for wickets. So it works both ways.”

Axar Patel on DC’s bowling fightback

Before the batting heroics of Ashutosh Sharma and Vipraj Nigam, it was the bowling that grabbed fans’ attention. Initially, the game seemed to be in LSG’s favour, but everything started changing after the first 10 overs. First, Mitchell Marsh headed to the dugout after playing a magical innings, and when Nicholas Pooran was dismissed, it suddenly became all about DC’s bowlers, who cleaned up the rest of the opposition.

Speaking about Delhi’s bowling performance, Axar Patel admitted that they conceded too many runs early but managed to pull things back in the latter half.

“I think the way they played the first six overs, I felt we gave away too many runs. We dropped a catch too. But we stopped them well in the last seven overs, so we had the momentum. When you see 250 could have been made but you stop them around 200, you feel confident. The way the players have been working hard, and we all know the potential we have.”
