COTABATO CITY – Navy authorities arrested 21 armed males who engaged troopers in an hour-long gunfight on Thursday afternoon in Aleosan city, Cotabato province.

In keeping with Lt. Col. Edgardo Batinay, commanding officer of the Military’s thirty fourth Infantry Battalion, the troopers have been despatched to the village of Bagolibas in Aleosan to examine on the presence of armed males massing within the space, as reported by civilians.

Because the troopers arrived within the village at about 4 p.m., they have been fired upon by the gunmen, Batinay mentioned.

Following the firefight, the troopers arrested 21 gunmen who yielded high-powered firearms that included 5 M16 and two M14 rifles, grenades, and varied ammunition.

“The suspects have been turned over to the native police for acceptable motion,” Batinay mentioned.

Two of the armed males, and a soldier, recognized as Cpl. Roy Villaber, have been injured within the firefight.
