ZAMBOANGA CITY, Philippines — Two troopers, each members of the Military’s thirty second Infantry Battalion, have been killed whereas six others have been wounded in an encounter in Basilan province on Wednesday, stated Brigadier Common Alvin Luzon, commander of the one hundred and first Military Brigade.
Luzon stated the troopers have been a part of the safety escorts that earlier assisted the personnel from the United Nations Growth Programme (UNDP).
“Round 4 p.m. this afternoon, troops of the thirty second Infantry Battalion who have been securing (a) delegation from the UNDP have been ambushed by armed males at Decrease Cabengbeng, Sumisip city,” Luzon stated via a Viber message.
The wounded troopers have been delivered to Lamitan Metropolis for medical consideration.

“4 of the wounded have been airlifted, medically evacuated to Zamboanga Metropolis,” Luzon stated.

He stated the UNDP representatives went to the realm and mentioned group growth tasks amongst native leaders and stakeholders.

Earlier this afternoon, members of the UNDP headed by Moonyean Alava and Christopher Oates, an EU marketing consultant, met with Basilan Governor Jim Salliman for session on a proposed challenge in some areas in Basilan.
Luzon stated clashes have been delay with the assistance of the MILF management within the space.
